One of my favorite things about shooting weddings is getting a behind the scenes feel for the family and friends of the bride and groom. This wedding was no exception – I couldn’t tell where Emily’s family ended and Jordan’s began as everyone hugged, laughed, and generally celebrated all day long. Emily put so much work into personalizing the details of the ceremony and reception and it truly showed to everyone in attendance.
Emily’s relationship with her Dad is so special. Watching this unfold behind my camera was one of the most emotional things I have ever photographed. This proud Daddy watched her go from a mischievous toddler to a beautiful bride within a blink of an eye and wasn’t afraid to show how much giving her away meant to him.
And if I thought the first look between Emily and her Dad was emotional, I wasn’t even close to prepared for the display of love when Jordan saw Emily for the first time. I think breathless would be the right word.
I love this moment I caught of the post ceremony high fives…everyone loves when that pressure is lifted!
I’ll end with this last image because it’s a good representation of exactly how the day felt as it was wrapping up. Like one giant hug in the middle of a kickin’ party.
